V-Green and Prime Group collaboration for establish expected to reach 100.000 EV charging stations in Indonesia

On 6th of December 2024, V-Green and Prime Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop the VinFast electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Indonesia. This agreement marks a significant step for V-Green as a global partner of VinFast in building a network of EV charging stations and demonstrates the trust that international businesses have in the green transportation ecosystem developed by V-Green and VinFast.

Under the agreement, both parties will collaborate on research and discussions with the goal of establishing approximately 100,000 VinFast EV charging stations in Indonesia over the next three years, with a projected total investment of $1.2 billion.

In the initial phase, VinFast charging stations will be prioritized in Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali, and surrounding areas, and the network will continue to expand in later stages. These regions, with high levels of electrified transportation, are key areas in V-Green’s strategy to expand in the Indonesian market, leveraging the advantage of VinFast’s diverse urban electric vehicle offerings.

The construction and development of the charging stations will begin in January 2025, with some stations expected to be operational in 2025. Prime Group, with a wide network across the Middle East and Africa, has established its position in many sectors such as infrastructure development, hotel management, retail, and information technology. Utilizing its strong financial resources and global partner network, Prime Group will be responsible for arranging the capital required for building and developing the VinFast EV charging stations.

Meanwhile, V-Green will actively research the market and identify strategic locations for building and operating the charging network to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles in Indonesia.

V-Green was founded by Pham Nhat Vuong, the founder of VinFast, with a 90% ownership stake, and was spun off from VinFast’s charging station development division. The company is responsible for fully investing in VinFast's EV charging infrastructure, with a clear goal of developing a green ecosystem and promoting the electric transportation revolution.

The MoU with Prime Group is the first milestone for V-Green as an important partner of VinFast in the company’s international expansion. Developing charging infrastructure is also one of VinFast’s key strategies in conquering the promising Indonesian market.

Since officially launching its brand in Indonesia, VinFast has delivered two models, the VF e34 and VF 5, continuously expanded its dealership network, introduced attractive sales policies, and broken ground on an assembly plant in Subang, West Java, to strengthen its global production capacity.
